About METRUKS

The METRUKS story began in 2018 after the birth of my first child. Around the same time, my dad was embarking on his own as an independent owner-operator after serving the trucking industry in nearly every capacity since the early '80s.

He called on me, his slightly more tech-savvy son, for help building a system to track state mileage and data for IFTA filings, create and send invoices, and manage expenses. Our solution? A very primitive set of Google Forms and spreadsheets.

Soon after, my brother followed in our dad's footsteps and started his own business as an independent owner-operator. He needed the same tools with a few more features to meet his needs.

After multiple custom versions of the original system and several years of familial encouragement, I decided to pursue building a more robust application designed specifically for owner-operators across the country.

I solicited the help of an old friend, Michael, with nearly 15 years of software engineering experience. We have partnered in building things since our youth, and together, we set out to turn my vision into METRUKS.

We designed the app with one mission: make bookkeeping simple for truck drivers.

There is always more to learn, but we have done our best to engage with truckers and dive deep into the industry. We believe we have built an app that accomplishes that mission. You spend enough time on the road — don't spend your time at home running numbers, creating invoices, and logging receipts. Let METRUKS do the heavy lifting for you.
